Wawel Hill For several centuries Wawel Castle was the main royal residence of polish kings. Today the castle remains a symbol of the independent Polish state, and is open to visitors who can see few exhibitions, i.a. State rooms, Crown Treasury and Armoury, The Lost Wawel, Dragons Den and others. Among highlights of the museum is priceless collection of 16th-century Flemish tapestries, considered to be one of the largest in the world. You can visit the Wawel cathedral as well, to see where polish kings and heroes were crowned and buried, and to have a look at the grave of the first polish saint - Stanislaus of Szczepanów.
